Nothing is as soft

The Tao te Ching says:  Nothing in the world is as soft and yielding as water. Yet for dissolving the hard and inflexible, nothing can surpass it. Each time we feel a feeling, truly allowing it to be experienced, we are beginning to balance ourselves.  With each repetition we dissolve a layer of resistance to what we see or are upset about.  Eventually we are balanced.  Mind and body are integrated and we are at peace.  ~Alain & Jody Herriott

The mind is about attachment

The mind is about attachment to outcome and is constantly in expectation.  It is drawn to drama and circular thinking and upset for it is always searching for something to control.  In effect the mind causes separation within us because of its constant reaching. Using the body to experience the feelings within us reunites us.  The more this occurs the more we come back into balance.  This harmony of body and mind is truly the harmony that is total. Others will call it many different names: centered, presence, even enlightenment.  Regardless of the word, balance is now a way of life.  ~Alain & Jody Herriott

The body is every bit as intelligent as the mind

The body is every bit as intelligent as the mind. Its communication is subtle, gentle, and while it may appear difficult to understand, its language is sensation. The mind is constantly pushing on these subtle sensations. The mind hides this subtlety beneath its over activity. When we allow ourselves to be aware of the subtle sensations and let them surface, the mind begins to relax. As this occurs, everything comes into harmony, and being is the result. ~Alain & Jody Herriott
