Most of us fear change

Most of us fear change, yet without change we never evolve. Our inner feelings, or more specifically, the sensations within us are often feared too. This fear is what keeps us from being willing to change. When we allow our sensations to be felt and to evolve, we find greater and greater balance. The more we apply this approach to our lives the more we become happy and whole. ~Alain & Jody Herriott.

Constant change

We are in a state of constant change. Our inherent nature is to both run towards and yet resist change. While change is always with us, we can be in a space of balance, wholeness and peace. This peace is not stagnant, it is a dynamic integration where Being is experienced. All it takes is the willingness to feel the subtle nuances within us, allow them to unfold and the rest is simply there. Being only needs the willingness to feel.  ~Alain & Jody Herriott

Each moment in our day is like a river

Each moment in our day is like a river in motion. When we get caught in the current and fight the motion, we are in the drama and all we can do is resist. When we realize this and stop resisting, the current and the drama can actually become the path to freedom. Each up and down, each push and pull could be an exciting road, the seed that blossoms into smooth sailing. ~Alain & Jody Herriott

In the last thought for the week we spoke of each moment being precious

In the last thought for the week we spoke of each moment being precious. If every moment is precious how can we live without worrying that we are wasting our life?  The limiting beliefs and the sensations they provide are the perfect entry point through which change can be facilitated.  Feelings are always with us.  While they may be pushed away through mind chatter, they are still there whenever we are willing to give ourselves access to them.  These issues then become the arrow to point us in the direction we should open.  And by allowing ourselves to feel them we find US, meaning our unfettered whole self; untainted by expectations and living in the present.  ~Alain & Jody Herriott

We say we want to be free, are you willing to change

We say we want to be free, yet so few of us are really willing to change in order to get there. For those who are willing to explore what it takes, follow this simple suggestion. Everything that makes you feel like you can’t be free is what takes you to freedom. Allow yourself to feel; keep feeling and you will change.  It is the true avenue to freedom and awakening.  ~Alain & Jody Herriott

You do not change the world

You do not change the world, the world is changed by you.  This may sound a bit like double talk but it is so very true.  When we attempt to force change we create a kind of conflict, a deepening of the drama so to speak.  If instead we become present and find the point or state of balance that exists within us, we change our relationship with the issues that we are in conflict with.  This allows change to occur and things simply work.  When we practice this, life becomes a meditation. ~Alain & Jody Herriott

Lives to change

Generally people want their lives to change but are afraid of how it might come about, how it might change their world.  When we allow ourselves to feel and unwind our fears about change, we realize that change is always happening.  We also realize that we will open to change in such a way that it will bring us joy.  We will have the experiences we crave through opening as opposed to pushing. In so doing life becomes balanced and satisfying.  Alain & Jody Herriott

Problems

Our problems are a mind set. They hold us in a grip that says all is lost.  As we go into feeling the grip lessens and things change for the better.  The old territory is what is producing the problem. The art of feeling allows us to replace this old territory with new and even unknown territory.  This is what gives us the opportunity to experience freedom and change.  ~Alain & Jody Herriott
