When we feel

When we feel at the sensation level it is like we are connecting to our origins.  It is a quiet peaceful way to live.  Every observed limitation then becomes the road to balance. When we stay at the sensation level the “drama” drops away and being is the result.  Enjoy.  ~Alain & Jody Herriott

Today is a beautiful day

Today is a beautiful day, not a surprise and not headline worthy.  We can “judge” the qualities of its beauty and in so doing create tension that some might call excitement and others might call uneasiness. That is the nature of judging. It feeds the existence of drama and draws us in so that we forget that it is still a beautiful day.  Can you coax your mind from the need to perpetuate drama?  Are you open to experiencing “you” for the sheer joy of letting yourself unfold?  This evolves to living a life of open balance and pleasant, ever-evolving being.  Enjoy.  ~Alain & Jody Herriott

How do we deal with a world defined by drama

How do we deal with a world that is defined by drama, in effect a land ruled by upset?  We feel ourselves and thus live a life of being vs doing.  For us what matters is the feeling within ourselves that the response produces; everything else is drama. And we use that feeling as the corridor to travel down, which takes us out of the drama and sets us free.  ~Alain & Jody Herriott

Each moment in our day is like a river

Each moment in our day is like a river in motion. When we get caught in the current and fight the motion, we are in the drama and all we can do is resist. When we realize this and stop resisting, the current and the drama can actually become the path to freedom. Each up and down, each push and pull could be an exciting road, the seed that blossoms into smooth sailing. ~Alain & Jody Herriott

As we witness the incredible dramas

As we witness the incredible dramas that are taking place at the moment, Texas, Puerto Rico, Las Vegas, it is very easy to get caught up and really lost in these experiences. The mind turns them over and over and keeps triggering the same feelings and we experience ourselves as trapped in this intensity. While that is certainly how most people experience these catastrophes it is not the way we have to. We could choose to unwind the sensations underneath the mental drama and become centered. Now we can deal with the situations effectively and compassionately. ~Alain & Jody Herriott

Story books are a lot like our life.

Story books are a lot like our life. Some are complex and some are simple. Some give us joy and some bore us or even scare us. They are also excellent examples of the drama of life. That is, they exemplify, in a microcosm, how we experience life in general. And just like choosing a book to read, we can choose how to live our life. The unwinding of locked emotions and points of view is the entry point to rewriting our stories. As each issue arises that seems to limit our “new” story, we process our feelings and the new story is allowed to unfold. Happy creating to you. ~Alain & Jody Herriott

So what does it mean to feel?

So what does it mean to feel?  Ideally, feeling is an entry point to sensation that leads to an unwinding of anything within us that challenges us or feels disharmonious.  A normal day finds most of us partially or fully caught in our minds, struggling to deal with the “drama” of those feelings that never seem to resolve.  We often feel caught in a never ending spiral of upset.  When we actually let ourselves just feel, the drama unwinds.  It lessens a layer at a time until it is no longer there, much as a cloud disappears into a cloudless sky. It is no longer a part of our world and we find ourself at peace.  With a little practice this peace becomes part of our everyday existence and balance rules our days.  ~Alain & Jody Herriott

Life is an art not an equation

Life is an art not an equation.  You can make all the plans you want but what occurs is an ebb and flow of being and doing.  The more being you have the more life is a beautiful dance.  The more doing you have the more life is a series of dramas that demonstrate an array of conflict and achievement that is hollow because it is so temporary.  Learning to feel our feelings is an integral part of that art and it is the avenue to being.  ~Alain & Jody Herriott
