Day to day lives

In our day to day lives we are often caught in the drama of the season– who to visit, what presents to get or even who should we avoid. All these thoughts point out how the mind gets over zealous about these dramas. Take some time, feel the sensations and allow them to unfold and return you to a place of balance and harmony; really this is a whole new way to approach life. ~Alain & Jody Herriott

What is Maya

What is Maya? It is considered to be the world as illusion, or the fact that everything is always changing. Another definition is illusion of the senses, meaning our senses tell us one thing but things may actually be very different around us because our senses can easily be fooled. To help bring our senses into greater alignment with our world we have the option to feel our inner sensations. Through the act of feeling, mind and body become integrated and we begin to realize our full potential. The more we do this action of feeling, the more deeply we become present.                     ~Alain & Jody Herriott

Talking about Feeling

We are always talking about feeling. Of course everyone feels. Some people assign more value to their feelings while others push them away. We all realize that we are feeling beings and when the feelings are pushed away often conflict arises within us. Take the time to experience the sensations within your feelings. Allow them to arise within you and travel through your body. In this way the mind begins to get the feedback that the body naturally produces to complete itself, this is the beginning of truly Being. ~Alain & Jody Herriott

Living in resistance

Most of us are living a life of resistance. We resist certain thoughts, people and memories. In The Wonder Method, these resistances become opportunities. Once we are aware we are resisting something we have the option to feel that sensation as oppposed to pushing it away. The act of feeling the sensations also makes it possible for those sensations to change and evolve, reducing our reaction to the original trigger. As TWM is applied the resistance gradually drops away (often a matter of minutes) and balance is the result. This approach is always available, it is simply a choice to feel or resist.  Enjoy ~Alain & Jody Herriott

The Tao that can be told

The Tao te Ching in the first section says “The Tao that can be told is not the eternal Tao”.  It goes on and on about the desire to know and the willingness to enter the mystery explaining that both arise for the same source… the unknown.  If we think of feeling as the connection that opens us to the mysterious and over active mind that keeps us caught in the drama of life, we begin notice a pattern. Sensation allows us to experience an open ended life, one filled with the mysterious.  The over active mind keeps us caught in the continual mind story, the drama that never ends.  ~Alain & Jody Herriott

Beauty in Silence

Have you noticed the beauty in the silence?  The mind isn’t usually comfortable with it.  It wants constant feedback from itself. The mind believes that all of it is real, yet it is only the box that it has been playing in.  As the feelings within us are allowed to be experienced, then the silence many only experience outside of themselves, becomes the new normal.  Balance, the exquisite harmony of the integration of body and mind. ~Alain & Jody Herriott

The mind wants to solve

The mind wants to solve problems. That is an excellent thing to do if the thing you are solving is something logical.  However the feelings within us are not based in logic, they are feelings.  They are not something you “reason with”, they are sensations.  Let them be sensations and allow yourself to simply feel gently and allow the issue to unwind.  ~Alain & Jody Herriott

Life is defined by stress

So much of our life is defined by stress, what we want and what we don’t want. The more stress, the more resistance we experience about everything we do.  As we unfold, through unwinding our resistance, we begin to realize that the less we resist, the more we open. In time we are living the maxim, “when nothing is done, nothing is left undone.”  Now we are balance, a never ending now of being. Enjoy the journey. ~Alain & Jody Herriott

The minds default is “on”

The mind’s default is “on”, a constant pressure or seeking if you will.  Accompanying this is a critical appraisal of all it encounters.  The pressure this creates within us is seldom released or even allowed to open at all.  Over time this creates even more pressure.  The art of feeling, of allowing experiences to evolve without being judged, is part of the art of the Wonder Method.  It is about learning to BE without constantly adding more pressure.  We learn to be part of the ever-expanding experience of sensation and knowledge.  This knowledge is there when we are no longer in conflict with ourselves.  Experience your sensations, it is always worth it.  ~Alain & Jody Herriott

The boundaries of counsciousness

We were thinking about the boundaries of consciousness the other day.  We realized that while we find ourselves within boundaries in our life and while they may seem to define us they are not truly boundaries. In reality they are only our beliefs.  Within these boundaries we label ourselves.  For example “I am an engineer”, or a mom or dad or gardener or scientist or animal trainer…  These experiences and the expectations that are associated with them are the boundaries that we surround ourselves with.  Of course they are not the whole of who we are, but so many of our world experiences appear linked to them that we tend to stay inside that environment.  As we feel our feelings in relation to each experience that restricts us, these boundaries unravel and we find ourselves in somewhat uncharted territory.  This new freedom is a sublime opportunity to move “beyond the beyond”, to change how we approach everything.  Taking this chance is an act of courage, faith and surrender.  It is not something that is actually hard to do, it is only outside the boundaries that we have called normal.  This action is often called a “path to change.”  We welcome you to the Path, it is worth every step taken along this new and constantly unfolding journey back to who we truly are.  ~Alain & Jody Herriott
