Dogs run Free

I was remembering a line from a Bob Dylan song.  “Dogs run free why can’t we, across the sands of time”.  I did a search and ran across this: That’s a beautiful, poetic question.

Dogs run free because they live almost entirely in the present. They don’t measure their lives “across the sands of time.” They don’t worry about yesterday’s mistakes or tomorrow’s uncertainties. They feel the wind, chase the scent, and that is enough.

We, on the other hand, are aware of time. We remember. We anticipate. We imagine futures that haven’t happened and replay pasts that can’t be changed. That awareness gives us art, history, science, and love that stretches beyond a single moment — but it also ties us down.

In a way, we can run free — just differently.
Through music.
Through love.
Through moments of complete presence.
Through letting go, even briefly, of the story in our heads.

Maybe the real question isn’t why we can’t run free.

Maybe it’s: What would it take for us to?

And I realized that this is what the Wonder Method offers, a way to become more and more present.  Feeling beings are what we are, yet so much of the time we are pushed out of it and into an overactive mind.  Feeling and unwinding the parts of feeling that keep us stuck brings us more deeply in to the Present. It simply happens.

We have been taught

We have been taught that everything we do in life is about achievement, about reaching goals and once achieved; start a new one.  For, if we are not striving, we are going backward.  This cycle never allows us to enjoy our life for we are constantly incomplete. However, if we are willing to feel and unwind this need to constantly strive, we set ourselves free from this limiting view, all possibilities are now ours.   Enjoy your new freedom.  ~Alain & Jody Herriott

The Wonder Method

We are often asked just what is The Wonder Method?  Probably first and foremost it is a subtle, simple, yet counter intuitive way to become incredibly present.  Other names for this might be “awake”, “grounded”, or “balanced” within ourselves.  Beyond this it is a model that can be used to offer healing to others and to unwind limiting beliefs and experiences until calm and balance are experienced within us.  If we take it further it is also a way to step beyond the common view of reality or Maya and begin to live in satisfaction and joy.  This all starts with feeling at the sensation level and everything evolves from there.  We encourage you to feel; it is wonderfully satisfying. ~ Alain & Jody Herriott

How do we deal with a world defined by drama

How do we deal with a world that is defined by drama, in effect a land ruled by upset?  We feel ourselves and thus live a life of being vs doing.  For us what matters is the feeling within ourselves that the response produces; everything else is drama. And we use that feeling as the corridor to travel down, which takes us out of the drama and sets us free.  ~Alain & Jody Herriott

Into each life a little rain must fall

Into each life a little rain must fall. This kind of statement keeps us in a world made up of drama. It causes us to always fear that we will not be fully successful no matter what we do. This is why, in The Wonder Method™, we process, to deconstruct this sort of limiting view through feeling. And we Wonder (an evolving state of possibility) our way into an always flexible set of possibilities that can and will carry us into an amazing moment, the present—the most powerful place there is. ~Alain & Jody Herriott

We say we want to be free, are you willing to change

We say we want to be free, yet so few of us are really willing to change in order to get there. For those who are willing to explore what it takes, follow this simple suggestion. Everything that makes you feel like you can’t be free is what takes you to freedom. Allow yourself to feel; keep feeling and you will change.  It is the true avenue to freedom and awakening.  ~Alain & Jody Herriott

The conclusion of another year

As we approach the conclusion of another year we have been thinking how each day, each moment really is an opportunity for discovery. Yet each opportunity is often judged rather than allowed to unfold into a new balance. This is t when consistently applied, it shows us that each experience provides us with the seeds of freedom. ~Alain & Jody Herriott

Beliefs and how we live

“As long as a man stands in his own way, everything seems to be in his way.” – Ralph Waldo Emerson

This is an example of how deeply beliefs influence how we live.  When we realize that we are standing in our own way we have the opportunity to choose to change at a fundamental level. The art of feeling and unwinding our limiting beliefs provides us with a whole new way to live: happy, free and amazing.

Awakening, experiencing Enlightenment

Awakening, the act of experiencing Enlightenment.  Awakening occurs as we process the conflicting feelings inside us.  On the other side of each unraveling is more of who we are. As each resistance is unwound we experience greater presence and once enough pieces are integrated we awaken.  Now we understand our unlimited state and our connection to everything is self evident.  ~Alain & Jody Herriott

Lives to change

Generally people want their lives to change but are afraid of how it might come about, how it might change their world.  When we allow ourselves to feel and unwind our fears about change, we realize that change is always happening.  We also realize that we will open to change in such a way that it will bring us joy.  We will have the experiences we crave through opening as opposed to pushing. In so doing life becomes balanced and satisfying.  Alain & Jody Herriott
