Reason

“… what you learn today, for no reason at all, will help you discover all the wonderful secrets of tomorrow.” —Norton Juster, The Phantom Tollbooth

Every feeling we have is an opportunity to discover.  We don’t need a reason, only the willingness to go.  This reveals the most wonderful secrets of who we are.  ~Alain & Jody Herriott

Isolate

Have you ever noticed that the mind isolates us from our body?  The mind gets busy and dismisses the body; it does this over and over.  This eventually creates disharmony to the point that the body tries to get the mind’s attention any way it can.  In some cases this presents as a physical illness and in others as depression or any number of emotional issues.  Feeling is what integrates the body and mind and allows us to become whole.  ~Alain & Jody Herriott

Discovery

We watched a movie the other night it was called “The Giver”.  It was about discovering our emotions and how if we were without them we could not go beyond a shadow life, a life without passion.

It is a funny thing how the further we go into feeling, the more feelings there are.  Being willing to feel them is an exercise in discovery.   Along with that comes doubt and uncertainty; that is the nature of new discoveries.  What becomes more evident is the depth of feeling that is constantly present and how, if we are willing to go continuously into our sensations, we discover who we may be.  It’s okay if the changes are gradual and it’s okay if they are rapid.  Simply to go is worth every moment of the journey.  — Alain & Jody Herriott

Essence

Look and it can’t be seen, listen and it can’t be heard, reach and it can’t be grasped…. you can’t know it but you can be it, at ease in your own life, just realize where you come from this is the essence of wisdom— Tao te Ching #14

Such is the nature of transcendence.  It is something so many strive for and because of that don’t achieve.  By allowing ourselves to feel, we find the beingness we desire inside each sensation.  It exists because we do; all we need to do is let it unfold.  —Alain & Jody Herriott.

Transcendence

“The path to transcendence is unrecognized by many because it appears ordinary.” —Bryant McGill, Simple Reminders: Inspiration for Living Your Best Life

On the surface someone who has transcended the drama of life, appears to be living day to day as anyone does.  What few see, yet many feel in their presence, is the incredible balance and simple “rightness” that is there for the sharing.  ~Alain & Jody Herriott

Be

“Be — don’t try to become.”  — Osho

There is incredible truth here.  The act of trying to become means we can never reach it.  Feeling the things that make you feel you have not yet arrived allows the stage to be set and you now can simply BE. ~Alain & Jody Herriott

Wonder

The Wonder Method is really about deconstructing reality.  We unwind everything in our belief system that is holding us back from balance.  When this is complete, balance is all that is left. Through this act not only do we get free from the issue at hand, we actually open to a reality that is much freer in general.  In effect we become present and in so doing we supersede the old view.  Truly amazing. ~ Alain & Jody Herriott

Awake

“An awake heart is like a sky that pours light.”  — Hāfez

As feeling returns our heart and soul begin to sing the joy of being.  This realization that we are without end allows the light to shine forth from within.  ~Alain & Jody Herriott

Miracle

There are only two ways to live your life.  One is as though nothing is a miracle.  The other is as though everything is a miracle.  —Albert Einstein

Looking at things from a state of Wonder embraces the miraculous.  Opening to miracles is the avenue to endless possibilities and the chance to know oneself from a completely different perspective.  ~Alain & Jody Herriott

Attachment

To let go of attachment all you have to do is to let go of the thought of how something is supposed to be or how something should turn out.  —Teal Swan

Ah but how to get there?  We get there through feeling.  By feeling everything that makes us believe we are attached we arrive at beingness.  This means we now have unlimited options; any direction we choose to go brings us the opportunity for balance and happiness.  ~Alain & Jody Herriott
