Stillness offers an

“Stillness offers an experience of being and a recognition that being . . . my essence . . . is a part of all Being, all Essence.”  ― Nancy J. Napier

This is so very true.  The ability to be still is a natural part of the evolution of feeling.  As we feel more and judge less we integrate body and mind.  This action results in stillness, no striving required.  ~Alain & Jody Herriott

Resistance and openness

Resistance and openness. An opportunity and a reward. Looking out the window at a rainy day feeling resistance to the vision, I feel, open and surrender to the fears within me. The wind blows and the sky clears and I find myself once more in the clear blue sky of me, free within the endless possibilities of of an ever-evolving yet deeply present now.  ~Alain and Jody Herriott

You teach people

“You teach people how to treat you by what you accept.”  ―Diamond Drake, Imagined Love

 This is about opening to what is around you, letting it in to be transformed.  This not only affects how you are treated but what experiences you bring into your world as well — lovely, elegant and amazing.  ~Alain and Jody Herriott

If you’re tired

If you’re tired of drama in your life, just quit being the actor.  Author unknown

 In our life, we are actors in the play that we are in.  Conscious of it or not, we are playing that role in order to maintain the drama we find ourselves in.  Through allowing ourself to feel we unwind this drama.  We realize that we can change our role and the world around us changes too.  We can do this with any role we are playing; all it takes is  the willingness to enter the feelings we are experiencing. Freedom is on the other side.  ~Alain & Jody Herriott

Drama is life with

“Drama is life with the dull parts left out.”  ― Alfred Hitchcock

Funny but true.  We see the world, we look at our experiences and judge it. It says things are too slow or too fast.  The mind is now engaged and we leave the now.  We leave our ability to be truly present.  This evaluative capacity that the world says we should use for everything is what takes us out of the moment and separates our body and mind.  Feeling reintegrates us.  This is why we do it, to unwind the drama, to become aware of who we are and become whole even for the dull parts.  ~Alain & Jody Herriott

The mind creates

“The mind creates those things that exist.”  ― Terrt Tempest Williams, PIeces of White Shell

We look around us and we see what we see.  We say this is real and this is what it means.  Someone, maybe a friend or maybe just some random person looks at the same thing and says “No, it means this and I know that this is real and it is the only thing it can mean.”  Such is Maya, the illusion of the senses.  Everything we see, everything we hold as an absolute truth is an interpretation of what our senses experience, and all this is colored by our beliefs, our thoughts.  This is what twists the world askew between people, communication and being.  It may seem odd to include being in this description,  yet it too is a truth.  As we unwind our internal conflicts and beliefs we find our whole self.  This is the nature of being.  ~Alain & Jody Herriott

The eye– it

The eye— it cannot choose but see;
we cannot bid the ear be still;
our bodies feel, where’er they be,
against or with our will.” ―William Wordsworth, Lyrical Ballads

That is it.  We are constantly feeling regardless of our desires or what is going on around us.  It is the sea we swim in and our reason to be.  That art of feeling can be evolved to set us free or to trap us in the world of Maya.  Choose to feel and consciously unravel your fears and Awakening is what you will discover.  ~Alain & Jody Herriott

Growth means change

“Growth means change and change involves risk, stepping from the known to the unknown.” —George Shinn

 The only risk is our fear.  By moving beyond this, we enter the unknown — the most fertile ground that there is.  Now we are amazing.  ~Alain & Jody Herriott
