When we need to understand

When we need to understand something we tend to strive and dig for the answers.  The mind is searching everywhere; we weigh and judge each answer and try something, then reevaluate and try again.  When we instead feel the inner conflict and allow that to unwind, the answers simply appear in our world.  Little to no effort is required and we return to a sense of rightness and balance. ~Alain & Jody Herriott

There are no limits, only plateaus

“If you always put limit on everything you do, physical or anything else. It will spread into your work and into your life. There are no limits. There are only plateaus, and you must not stay there, you must go beyond them.” — Bruce Lee

This is why we need to feel.  The boundaries we find ourselves contained by are just our fears.  Through feeling we gain access to our fears and begin the process of unwinding them and in so doing become free.  ~Alain & Jody Herriott

Duality: the quality of dual

Duality: the quality or condition of being dual. The state or quality of being two or in two parts; dichotomy.

We are experiencing life as duality.  We appear to need highs and lows, rights and wrongs and so on.  The mind appears to crave issues to talk about in order to immerse itself in duality.  This is just the mind believing the illusion; that it needs comparisons in order to  define “self”.  When we feel, duality unwinds and we experience Being.  There is no longer a need for the inner turmoil of who or what is better; quite simply we are.  ~Alain & Jody Herriott

When we see our world with Wonder

When we see our world through the eyes of Wonder everything has a special glow.  We realize that we are an integral part of everything.  This significance reminds us that seeing the world in this way is like seeing it as if through the eyes of a child.  Life is experienced as a precious ever evolving gift.  Join us and return to those special moments for a life time.  ~Alain & Jody Herriott

The closer you come to knowing

“The closer you come to knowing that you alone create the world of your experience, the more vital it becomes for you to discover just who is doing the creating.” ― Eric Micha’el Leventhal

Yes, we must unravel the facade we call the everyday person and release who we really are; an unlimited being caught within the day to day drama of life.  As we come to understand this and dissolve the illusion, we again take control of our world and live a life both fulfilling and marvelous. ~Alain & Jody Herriott

Our lives are like an endless river

Our lives are like an endless river.  Within the river are boulders and banks, debris and floating jetsam. The things in the river are the creations of our mind.  The mind clings to these creations even though they are not the river.  Our feelings, when felt and allowed to unwind, support the flow and the clearing of these obstacles we have created in our river.  As more and more obstacles are unwound the river becomes a sea and a sea becomes an ocean, a never ending connection to everything we could ever imagine.  ~Alain & Jody Herriott

Happiness is part of who we are

“Happiness is part of who we are. Joy is the feeling” ― Tony DeLiso, Legacy: The Power Within

It is our right to be happy and yet so many of us get lost on the path to having it be so.  Feel, for as you do you will uncover the joy that is inside you and it will be as if you had wings to fly to the most amazing places.  ~Alain & Jody Herriott

In the search for Bliss we look everywhere

10/5/16

In the search for bliss we look everywhere.  We sit and meditate and try to keep the state achieved or strived for.  Yet it is elusive or temporary.  Then one day we realize that all this striving is not the answer.  We begin to unwind the striving, the need to accomplish and we arrive.  Bliss becomes available in every moment and we simply are there.  ~Alain & Jody Herriott

The problem with introspection is that it has no end.

“The problem with introspection is that it has no end.”  ― Philip K. Dick

This is what the mind does, it looks, examines and judges, going on and on without rest.  We can break this cycle of internal overactivity by allowing our feelings to have a role in our life as well.  While it does take some practice the rewards are well worth the time spent.  Feeling and thinking should support each other as opposed to excluding each other.  The act of allowing feeling and the mind to have an equal role in our lives is what leads us to have a quiet mind that is effective and peaceful.  We find that now we can simply be and in so doing experience who we really are.  –Alain & Jody Herriott

So what does it mean to BE

So what does it mean to BE?  We so often hear about Being, as Ram Das says Be Here Now, Now Be Here, Here Now Be.  So many words and really a simple thing to do.  All it requires is the willingness to feel, to unwind the seeming limitations within us and in so doing arrive at Being. It is what is there when the internal conflict dissolves.  The odd thing is most people will strive to obtain this and certainly some will achieve Being in this way.  However almost anyone who is willing to feel will find themselves effortlessly in a Being state as the blocks are unwound and the striving and yearning drops away.  The mind becomes quiet, understanding is present.  Enjoy ~Alain & Jody Herriott
